beef seems to pair well with beans, especially something like snow peas. the crisp sweet bite of a snow pea complements the richness of the beef. but of course, you may substitute the meat with pork, chicken, shrimp, or fish. we like to pull the “string” off the snow peas. this makes the peas less… stringy. you can see how we did it with the pics below.
flank beef thinly sliced 6 oz
(marinate with…
soy sauce 2 tsp
oyster sauce 1 tsp
oil 1 tsp
water 1 tsp
cornstarch 1 tsp)
snow peas large handful
medium red bell pepper 1
small onion 1
soy sauce 2 tsp
oyster sauce 1 tsp
salt 1/2 tsp
- marinate the beef and set aside
- de-string the snow peas by pulling off the tip and the stem end
- chop the pepper and onion, similar in length to the snow peas
- in a hot pan, add oil and toss in the beef, cook for 1-2 minutes
- plate the beef and set aside. we are cooking the beef and veggies separately
- in the same hot pan, add oil and toss in all the vegetables, cook for 5-6 minutes until the peas are barely soft
- add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and salt to the vegetables
- then finally add the beef back to the pan, toss evenly
