grilled prawns with thai dipping sauce

this dipping sauce goes well with just about everything. we especially like it with seafood , such as grilled prawns. it’s simple to make and very customizable too.

fish sauce 2 tbsp
soy sauce 1 tsp
grated ginger 1 tsp
garlic small clove
dried chili flakes 1 tsp
sugar 1 tsp
juice of 1/2 lime
oil 1 tsp
lemongrass and thai basil small handful(optional)

  • grate ginger with a cheese grater, and dice garlic
  • combine and mix everything in a dipping bowl… it’s that simple
  • adjust the flavor according to personal preference
  • butterfly and devein the prawns, leave the skin on
  • lightly coat the prawns with oil and salt
  • grill on medium-high heat (if you don’t have a grill, a pan works too)
  • prawns are done when they change to orange color, curled, and lightly charred

sweet, sour, spicy, salty - all the flavours in one single dipping sauce
